So, first you start off with a loom. I have about 4 different looms - 3 round ones and 1 square one. To make these flowers I'm using a round loom. You can purchase these at any craft store (I believe) or garage sales or thrift stores. That is where I found mine. ;] You can also make your own with a circle of wood and some nails - just make sure that the piece of wood has a whole in the center and is sanded down nicely so the yarn won't catch.

Then what you do is you take your yarn and make a couple of knots in it and hook it in one of the small notches on the side of the loom. Then you wrap it around the pegs a couple of times. I decide how many times I wrap my yarn around the pegs by the thickness of the yarn. For this pin I wrapped it around 3 times each peg. I also am using the middle pegs first instead of the outer ones - that will make a much larger flower.

Continue doing that until all the pegs have been wrapped with the yarn. This is what it should look like when you are finished.

Now, take your yarn needle and thread the yarn through it. This part I do differently from most people. Instead of backstitching round the flower, I go from one side, over the center and to the opposite side and again until the center is all sewn together. When this is done I tie the rest of the yarn to the yarn that you had in the notched part.

To make the center piece of the flower I take the second colour of yarn and tie it to the back of the flower using the tails from the flower to tie them together. Then you start doing what you did for the first part of the flower. Wrapping the yarn around the pegs in the loom, this time on the next row down.

Continue doing that until all the pegs are wrapped and just as before, stitch the centers together going from over top, underneath and around to the opposite side.

Tie the tail ends together a couple of times to secure the yarn in place. The back of the loom now looks like this:

And the front of the loom looks like this:

Slip the flower off the loom, fluff up a bit, sew or glue a pinback onto the back of the flower and voila, you have a loopy flower pin. If you have any questions or aren't sure what I mean, leave a comment and I'll try to re-explain it as best as I can.
